Please quote JM 0115 - St Mary's Bay is a great location to live or retire to, with a short drive or walk to the beach and promenade! This would have been a huge benefit during the recent pandemic, offering sea walks along the promenade - a huge benefit of living in this area.
The clean, sandy beach stretches along the coast between Dymchurch and Littlestone-on-Sea. At low tide this part of the beach is about half a mile wide with wooden groynes dividing it up. In summer St Mary’s Bay is particularly popular with bathers.
A great promenade runs alongside the beach, behind which is a low sea wall. In the summer season a kiosk opens on the promenade selling drinks and snacks.
Out at sea is a section of concrete Mulberry Harbour, built in 1944 for the Dunkirk landings. Romney Marsh, home to a variety of wildlife, lies south-west of the beach.
The entrance to Taylors Lane is on one side of a road, the other side to which has Littlestone Golf Club. It is about a 10 minute drive to the Club House itself, back towards New Romney.
The property is currently tenanted and will be vacated prior to exchange of contracts. It is cluttered in presentation and needs some updating to the decor and carpets, but the opportunity to purchase a detached bungalow in a cul-de-sac location so close to the coast, in our opinion, far outweighs and cosmetic disadvantages.
