Quote JM0115- What a lovely, period home this is with wonderful modern updates in a sympathetic style that really befits this home.
A neat entrance hallway leads into a surprisingly spacious lounge and walk-through to diner. The lounge has a period, working solid fuel open fireplace, lovely original wooden floor boards and the lounge and dining room area windows have been replaced by the current vendors, in a uPVC sash-style, again totally in keeping with the property.
The kitchen was replaced about two years ago and unusually for this type of property, is not a galley-style kitchen. Rather, it is wider than would normally be expected, meaning a few guests can socialise whilst concurrently engaging with the master chef prepared dinner!.
Once more, so many of these types of properties have a ground-floor bathroom accessed solely via the kitchen, at the immediate rear. NOT THIS LOVELY HOME! Yes, the replaced, modern family bathroom is to the rear of the kitchen, but is off-set to the rear right hand side and accessed by a rear hallway that connects the kitchen with the rear garden, and also via a separate door to the bathroom.
The vendors found, upon originally purchasing this home, an old-style stable door at the end of the rear hallway, for access to the rear garden. This has been replaced by a uPVC door but one that looks decidedly unlike a uPVC door, in my opinion! It too is a stable door, with triple effect, in that the whole door can connect in one, or the top or base section can be opened independently. The Vendors stated keeping the lower section closed, with upper open, was a blessing in the heat of summer and also ensured safety for young children and pets, if applicable.
The rear garden is low maintenance, backing onto the car parking area of the Hythe Road roundabout Tesco Express, with nearby pharmacy and residential home. In keeping with this period of property, rear access can be accessible by neighbours in general within the set of homes in the terrace but again, NOT for this property. It is the end one for such access, meaning the owners of this home can take items such as refuse bins through neighbouring gardens, or items to the garden as and when required, but neighbours cannot do likewise within this garden area.
The master bedroom is, in my opinion, a really good size and air vents in the chimney breasts where no fireplaces are fitted helps ensure ventilation. The vendor advises the upper fireplaces, as well as the dining room one, can be opened up for the placement of feature fires if required. The lounge's is fully functional.
Parking is non-allocated, on-street.
